Product Description
The grapes are grown entirely on French Island and handpicked between February 28th & March 18th 2010. The fruit from the mv6,114 & 115 clones is grown on a north easterly aspect that is open to the cooling sea breezes of Westernport bay, allowing the grapes to achieve a fully developed flavour profile.
The 2010 vintage was ideal, with moderate temperatures & rainfall leading to excellent fruit with great acid to sugar balance and fine/soft tannins.
The juice was fermented in open pots & plunged twice daily over a period of 8 days. It was then placed in French oak barriques & matured for 12 months.
A soft wine with plenty of length, dusty cherry & raspberry fruit, and a little spice.
Goes with barbecued French island salt pasture lamb.
Excellent value & quality. 4th in the Vic wine show, beating many higher priced pinot noirs.
